About Alejandro E. Gomez, ESQ
FOUNDER AND PRINCIPAL ATTORNEY
Licensed in Louisiana, Florida and Virginia
Alex Gomez brings a distinctive and thoughtful approach to the practice of law, shaped by decades of experience representing both large corporations and individual clients. His philosophy is simple yet powerful: litigation should never be the default solution. Instead, he believes in resolving legal matters through careful planning, strategic thinking, and cost-effective alternatives whenever possible.
Alex’s legal career began after graduating from Loyola University School of Law in 1997. He practiced in Louisiana until 2005, when Hurricane Katrina led him to relocate with his family to Miami. After several years in South Florida, Alex ultimately found his home in Wytheville, Virginia, where he opened his own practice in 2014. From the outset, his mission has been clear—to offer clients not only high-quality legal services but also the kind of attentive, personal support that builds long-term trust.
His broad legal experience spans a diverse range of practice areas, including ERISA, construction-related matters, contract disputes and negotiation, collection work, trusts and estates, business litigation, real estate law, first-party insurance disputes, and criminal defense. This depth and variety allow Alex to view each case from multiple angles, asking the right questions to develop creative, effective solutions tailored to his clients’ needs. Alex specifically enjoys cases that don’t fit neatly into boxes – the ones that demand inventive thinking and unorthodox approaches to resolve.
A strong advocate of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Alex frequently explores mediation, arbitration, or settlement options before turning to litigation. In his view, ADR often leads to faster, more amicable, and more affordable outcomes—particularly in construction defect cases. While he recognizes that not every case is suited to ADR, he believes it is always worth considering before resorting to court. “Litigation should be the last resort,” he often says, “because too often, the only winners are the lawyers. That’s not how it should be.”
Outside the office, Alex is a devoted family man who enjoys coaching and watching his children’s sports activities. When time allows, he likes to golf, watch baseball, and explore the natural beauty of Southwest Virginia. Coming from the flat landscapes of Miami and New Orleans, he finds the mountains around Wytheville both inspiring and restorative.
Alex is committed to building strong, lasting relationships with his clients, grounded in trust, transparency, and results. If you have legal questions or concerns, he invites you to reach out—he’s always happy to help.
